"The Voice" - "The Finals" - June 28, 2011 Performance: The judges perform Queen's "Under Pressure" We get a video recap of the season. Contestant: Javier Colon. He's working with super-producer Rodney Jerkins on his original song. Adam counsels on him on how to sing. Javier says the song is for his family. Song: "Stitch by Stitch" Performance: He plays the acoustic guitar, the song has a very Babyface vibe, gauzy, acoustic R&B. It's very sweet about a partner healing him, stitch by stitch. Blake: Says he's a good dude and has a lot of respect for him. Christina:Thought the song suited him really well. Cee Lo: Thought he embodied the song written for him. Adam: Breathes a sigh of relief and agrees with Blake that Javier is a great guy. Contestant: Dia Frampton, performing with Blake. Dia thinks this is the perfect last song. Blake is really proud of her growth. Song:"I Won't Back Down," Tom Petty Performance: Both rocking shades, black suits, and guitars-- it's really cute-- they performa really straightforward version of the midtempo rocker. Contestant: Vicci Martinez. She likes the song because it relates to everyone's experiences, it comes from Butch Walker. She loves that it's an epic song that builds Song:"Afraid to Sleep" Performance:It starts as a piano ballad-- the stage misted in dry ice-- and the chorus kicks in and it gets a little more rocking, but stays kind of plodding. The song sits low in Vicci's register and doesn't have a lot of range except for one big note in the bridge and at the end. She's singing it well, it's just a little monochromatic. Adam: Says this is a fun thing to do and he has the best time watching her as a spectator and he calls her a powerful little thing. Blake: He loves that she insists on being a big deal on stage. Christina: She likes that she makes the stage her own. Cee Lo: Says he believes in her as a person and a personality and that he loves her. Performance: Pitbull and Ne-Yo perform "Give Me Everything" Contestant: Beverly McClellan, does her duet with with Christina. Linda Perry, the songwriter, joins in on the rehearsal. Song: "Beautiful," Christina Aguilera Performance: With an acoustic guitar army onstage with them, the ladies do a beautiful job harmonizing and imbuing the song with soft soul. Contestant: Dia Frampton. Her song comes from songwriters who've worked with Adele and Keane. Song:"Inventing Shadows" Performance:She starts the song, which builds from a light ballad to more of a churning pop rocker, at the piano applying her husky vocals well. Christina: Calls it really lovely and then bags on Blake with mimes and shadowboxes. Cee Lo: Thought it was wonderful and thinks it will be number one on iTunes. Adam: Thought it was a great song and that she's unique but he got distracted by all "the stuff" behind her. Blake: Says what will be really distracting to them is when Dia is dominating their artists on iTunes. Contestant: Javier Colon does his duet with Adam Levine Song: "Man in the Mirror," Michael Jackson Performance: The perfect song for these two and they kill it, gorgeous falsetto harmonies. Performance: Brad Paisley performs "Don't Drink the Water" and mid-song Blake gets up and sings it with him. Contestant: Beverly McClellan. Her song comes from a guy who's worked with 311, Stone Temple Pilots, and the Fugees. Xtina is hoping she can put her stamp on it. Song:"Lovesick" Performance: It starts off rocking with Beverly center stage, sounding very Etheridge-ian. She's having a lot of fun, it's a very lively performance. Cee Lo: He says "wow"! Loves that she's talented and individual and thinks she killed it. Adam: Says what she did transcended competition and made it fun and says she really sold it. Blake: Says if music was crack , Beverly would have a serious problem, he loves to watch her. Christina: She loved it and loves her work ethic and her big heart. Contestant: Vicci Martinez does her duet with Cee Lo Song: "Love is A Battlefield," Pat Benatar. Because this is Cee Lo this is a big production number complete with kid dancers decked out in "Mad Max" style outfits and Cee Lo rocking a fuschia fauxhawk.
