Unfortunately, each season has witnessed the nuance and irreverent subversion replaced with brute-force ham-fisting as the characters just became parodies of *themselves*. The show's producer believes that he's an extreme genius and that those who don't like how progressively half-assed each season has become simply dismisses criticism with "well, you're a nazi who thinks Homelander is the hero!"... *eyeroll*.Gaslighting aside: Season 1: 9/10, Season 2: 7/10, Season 3: 6/10, Season 4: 4/10Thankfully, they're only doing one more season.
Used to Love this series was one of best for me ever, but recent seasons seem to be hijacked by Hollywood/DEI loan contributors. There is an obvious push for their political left wing agenda which saddens me. It might still be worth watching but too much plot armor in s4 and writing fell off.
An absolutely brutal and hilarious series. Totally upends everything in the superhero genre and is a breath of fresh air. Casting is top notch and every main/supporting character is excellent. This will be remembered as one of the great, unhinged and revolutionary series.Trigger warnings: LOTS of blood and gore, profanity, allegories and parallels of the modern US political climate that will be sure to trigger, hurt the feelings of and melt far right wingers- as evidenced by the recent spate of reviews lol
