Balloons of Hazard

Putting his faith in the science of buoyancy, Todd Sampson ties himself to a giant cluster of helium balloons in an attempt to defy gravity. With the help of astrophysicist Dr. Lisa Harvey-Smith, Todd takes flight with 130 balloons to demonstrate the upward force of buoyancy. Filled with over 3000 cubic feet of helium, the second lightest gas in the universe, Todd's cluster of balloons should displace enough air to lift him high into the sky. But this giant airship relies on calm conditions, and high winds threaten to derail the experiment. Far from commercial aircraft corridors in rural Kangaroo Valley NSW, the team get ready for what is believed to be the first ever cluster balloon flight in Australia. Todd trusts his life in the physics of buoyancy to not only give him lift off, but to also prevent him from crash-landing back to earth.
