Spare the Rod, Spoil the Child

Father Camilo gets a letter from the Archdiocese informing them of the Church’s intervention following accusations of a fake seminarian. Before being expelled, Father Camilo enrolls Rogelio in the seminary to prepare him. Despite his doubts, Rogelio agrees, and Beatriz gets hired to instruct him. Meanwhile, Burgos faces problems with investors, and the neighbors revolt when they fail to receive payment. Burgos and Tutaina plot to instill fear in the neighborhood and ally with El Jetas, who sets out to make streets unsafe. María Marta and several other neighbors are victims of a robbery carried out by El Jetas and La Cizañera. Jimenez confronts his brother but is injured. Rogelio alone comes to Jiménez’s aid, but while rescuing him, he realizes that El Jetas has told Jiménez the truth about him. Rogelio looks after Jiménez, afraid he’ll tell everyone the truth. But when the officer regains consciousness, he is suffering from amnesia and can’t remember his own identity, convinced that he’s a “costeño,” a person from Colombia’s Caribbean coast.
