Dinah! is a daytime talk show hosted by singer and actress Dinah Shore, which aired in American syndication markets through 20th Century Fox Television from its premiere on September 9, 1974 until the summer of 1980. Dinah! aired for 90 minutes each weekday.Like other syndicated shows of the day, such as The Merv Griffin Show and The Mike Douglas Show, Dinah! was focused on interviews of celebrities who were invited to appear on the show. Also, many popular singing acts would receive exposure on Dinah! by first singing a song or two, and then sitting for an interview with Shore. A professional singer herself, Shore would usually sing at least one song on each program, either greeting the television viewing audience or saying goodbye to them at the end; she sometimes dueted with musical guests. Johnny Gilbert served as the show's announcer.Dinah! would often do entire 90-minute episodes devoted to one television series; for example, there was an episode saluting The Waltons which featured the entire cast, including the child cast members, and the series creator Earl Hamner. During the show, Shore did a musical salute to the year 1935, which would have been in the time period in which The Waltons took place. Another series that was saluted was M*A*S*H. Again, the entire cast appeared, Gary Burghoff played the drums, and the musical salute was to 1951. Dinah! is not currently available to stream, rent, or buy but you can track it for updates. It's a comedy show with 6 episodes over 4 seasons. Dinah! is no longer running and has no plans to air new episodes or seasons. It has a better than average IMDb audience rating of 7.0 (296 votes).
