Batman: Caped Crusader

I just happened to finish rewatching Batman TAS for the first time in twenty years and tried the many follow-ups: Batman Beyond, The Batman, Beware the Batman, and even Harley Quinn. I didn’t like any of those, but Caped Crusader is awesome! Yes, they re-envision some characters, mixing up gender, race, and even sexuality, but I think it’s done in good taste and without the in-your-face, condescending tone of other recent updates *cough* Harley Quinn *cough* (for any doubters I recommend watching ALL of the episode Moving Target). My only real beef is that the cowl looks kind of dumb, and yes, I miss Kevin Conroy.

A new twist on classic Batman

I've been waiting for this show for years and I'm glad it finally came out and got renewed for another season. The story is great and while adding the usual tropes we've come to see about Batman, it also dives into new angles and positions for reoccurring and new characters. The animation is great. I think the tighter animation kind of adds (I might just be delusional) to the feel of the world like it's a live comic book. The music is fantastic. Scores that evoke the vibe of a desolate Gotham. Show is a 10/10 for me and I'm excited to see where it goes.Amazon Prime has been winning this year
