Hands down the best TV series I’ve ever seen, aside from Breaking Bad. Barry is in a genre of its own, so it’s hard to compare. The whole series is so incredibly unpredictable and the various juxtapositions they incorporate make one laugh out loud at the absurdity of so many situations that would otherwise be disturbing. They masterfully balance the comedic relief with the darker aspects of the show.It’s hard to compare to the masterpiece that is Breaking Bad. BB had so many more seasons and time to build long character arcs, but Barry is by far much more imaginative, surreal, absurd, and hilarious, likely because of the shorter run that was planned.The first three seasons are gold, however the third one gradually becomes way darker. The same is true of the fourth. You could stop watching on the third season with enough sense of completion, but I don’t imagine anyone has the self control to do so with this show.
