Sam returns home and informs Maddie about what happened. When Maria hears noises downstairs she asks Maddie who's downstairs. Maria comes down to see Sam, and is relieved that he is finally home. Maria scolds Sam for leaving, and the battle between the children and the parent fiercely continues. Maddie then leaves the room after saying to Maria, her mother, that she hates her.
