The movie "Villains" is enjoyable with likable characters, including the antagonists. It defies initial expectations, offering a mix of horror, drama, and comedy. The film holds attention with good performances, character dynamics, and charming ambiance. However, it has some exaggerations and predictable solutions.
The movie has a few exaggerations, some nonsensical and even predictable solutions, but it also has moments that amuse, some bizarre scenes and in general it holds your attention from start to finish. The performances and the character dynamics are good, the ambience and the colors give the film a certain charm, the story is simple and doesn't bring anything new, but it does its job of entertaining.
I didn't have high hopes for it when I first saw it, but I ended up enjoying it. Since I've put it on 4 or 5 more times, and yeah I've liked it every time up-to and including this last time today. All the characters are super likable, even the bad guys. Was a real treat watching Jeffrey Donovan, Maika Monroe, and Bill Skarsgård's characters. At first I thought it was going to be a Bonnie and Clyde type movie, before everything went off the rails, and I'm glad it did.I was mostly into tv shows from 2015 to 2019, no films grabbed my attention for some reason. This and a few others got me back into enjoying movies. 9/10 from me as a horror, drama, with some comedy thrown in.
