The movie "The Woman King" features lots of action but lacks historical accuracy, omitting the tribe's role in the transatlantic slave trade. The film has a good concept but suffers from too many underdeveloped storylines, failing to evoke strong emotions. Overall, it's considered just okay.
Of all the tribes to try to pick to be the heroes. 🤦🏽♂️. The exact opposite of the story occurred in reality, and the term inspired by true story is stretched to incredulity. While white people are just as culpable in the early slave trade, the Dahomey were the biggest slave traders in Africa, and thrived under slavery. They were actually pressured into stopping the slave trade by white Europeans. They weren’t fighting for freedom just enslavement of other tribes.
Stupid. Just call it the queen
Too many story plots going on that they couldn’t delve into them enough to bring the emotion across to the viewer. Good concept though.
