Ratings & Reviews
The Reelgood Score is a comprehensive weighted index designed to evaluate movie & TV quality, deriving its value from a blend of Reelgood user engagement, external ratings metrics expressed through content popularity, and user feedback, including ratings such as "loved," "liked," and "disliked." The score is presented on a scale from 1 to 100, where 100 signifies content that is highly esteemed and positively rated within the community.
The Hunger Games is praised for its amazing cast and being a great family movie for those over 12. Adults and teenagers alike enjoyed it. However, some critics feel it's a weaker version of Battle Royale, with less interesting characters and a protagonist who avoids tough decisions due to plot conveniences.
It's a tepid "like", if you enjoy this genre of film. However, ultimately, it's just a poorer version of Kinji Fukasaku's Battle Royale from 2000 with less interesting characters, a less compelling protagonist, and watered down. Worst of all, the protagonist is saved from ever having to make questionable or difficult decisions thanks to mcguffins and other characters doing all the deeds while the protagonist just sort of exists.
Classic movie
After reading the Hunger Games book a couple of months ago and finally having free time after so much school, I've decided to watch the Hunger Games movie adaptation. This was such a great movie. The pacing may have felt a bit off at times, but I don't blame it because adapting books to movies is a bit tricky. The soundtrack is mesmerizing, and a lot of the visuals for the film feel straight out of the book.A lot of the brutality of the Hunger Games was shown expertly here. The sheer emotions that were felt by the participants, like fear, anger, or stress, were the one of the many good things about this movie.I'd love to check out the next couple of films after reading the books!
