"The Final Countdown" is a nostalgic naval film featuring an aircraft carrier time-traveling to just before Pearl Harbor. While some enjoy the Japanese zeros scene, others find it lacking by modern standards. It's appreciated mainly for its nostalgic value rather than its quality.
I saw this when it came out. It has some moments. Like… can an f14 fly slow enough to engage a Japanese zero?
I hit the like button, but not because its a good movie. It really isn’t. Especially by today’s standards. If you feel like watching a 1984 movie for nostalgic reasons, you might like it too.
Fun naval flick. My favorite part was the Japanese zeros attacking the senator. An aircraft carrier hits a storm that sends them back to the day before Pearl Harbor. They decide whether or not to change history by stopping the Japanese invasion. Right as the battle starts, the storm reappears and sends them back to the future.
