Coming into this from Eraserhead you can start to ID some of Lynch's stylistic techniques. His signature surrealism takes a back seat in The Elephant Man but finds its way into the film before the credits roll. The scene in question proves to be one of the most hauntingly beautiful sequences of The Elephant Man.Young Anthony Hopkins is wonderful and John Hurt is tenderly superb. Relatively linear compared to Eraserhead.Oh yeah, the prosthetics. Gosh dang Christopher Tucker did an amazing job.Lynch is also on point with his sound design in this film. Finally, David Lynch really, really hates industrialization, huh?Excited to move on to Dune.
