"**The Cabin in the Woods**" is praised for its creativity, mind-bending ideas, and unique twist on traditional horror tropes. It's seen as a love letter to and critique of horror films, with numerous references and layers of complexity. Performances, especially by Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford, are highlighted. The direction and script are noted for their care and originality. The film is described as both brutal and hilarious, making it a must-watch for horror fans.
I genuinely don’t get how so many people like this movie. The acting sucks, the character development is nonexistent, I literally thought it was a comedy because of how stupid it was😂huge waste of time
This movie is fantastic, a love letter to horror films and at the same time a critique, especially of remakes and stereotyped formulas, managing to propose challenges and also homages with countless references. The story is very original, full of layers of complexity, interpretations and reflections. The performances are great, each character has been carefully created to fit the script, which is incredible. The direction was clearly done with great care, and the movie develops really well, with brutal and hilarious scenes. A masterpiece made for horror fans, which should be watched again and again.
Straight-up monster movie that's clichéd on purpose. Nothing more to say really. It doesn't suck, which is the same thing I said the last time I saw it in the early 2010's. So far it's been timeless I guess. edit: Oh I completely forgot Thor was in this btw, that was fun to see
