The movie "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem" received mixed reviews. Many praised the animation style, likening it to "Spider-Verse," and appreciated the modern adaptation of the turtles with relevant slang and humor. The plot was seen as simple but meaningful, focusing on family and friendship. Some long-time fans found it hard to adjust to changes like the portrayal of Bebop and Rocksteady and the turtles without masks. Criticisms included the art style not being aesthetically pleasing to some and the ending being unrealistic. One review expressed strong dislike without detailed reasoning.
First off the Animation was excellent and similar to the “spider-verse” franchise. The film has a solid story about family, friendship and overcoming your fears. It’s simple yet meaningful. The story was obviously written for a more younger and modern audience, having references to TikTok dances and other things pop culture. As a 2003 and 2012 TMNT fan it did take some getting used to but by the end of the movie I loved almost everything about this. Can’t wait to see what’s next, 8/10.
Ok… maybe I’m too old for this… in general the movie it’s in the right place. But, didn’t like the drawing, the animation style, well it’s what everyone is doing so it’s ok… I guess… but the drawing it’s not esthetic at all, not a fan. And also not a fan of the vindication of Bebop and Rocksteady, they were the bad guys and now they are “bros”… anyway… as I said maybe I’m getting too old, because the Turtles without their masks it’s a little too weird, at least for me.
Lovers the movie. As a turtles fan since the original cartoons I was skeptical going in. I like that the turtles are adapted to how teenagers are now with modern slang and even nods to current events. The humor was great and the turtle banter and other various mutants were hilarious!
