"Talk to Me" is praised for its frequent scares, brutal practical effects, and originality. The acting, writing, and make-up are highly commended. Some found the first act slow and the ending weak. Criticisms include a lack of real scares and some implausible plot points. Overall, it's seen as a solid, stylish horror film with a fresh take on possession and social media commentary.
phenomenal. absolutely such a mindfuck in the most unique ways. the acting, writing, make-up, and practical effects: chef’s kiss. one of the best “teen” horror film in such a long time! had me rewinding to watch specific scenes over again just to see things i missed or just to take in the insanity again. keeps you guessing til the end and never gives complete answers. 10/10
Seeking cheap thrills and social media clout, a group of teens push the boundaries of communicating with the dead. Only after they’ve gone too far do they realize malevolent spirits are all too happy to answer the call.Frequent scares, brutal practical effects and a tight 90 minute run time make Talk to Me worth checking out for any horror fan.
A solid horror movie, though lacking in any real scares. Solid casting, solid production, and a full, generally unwasted run-time. The first fifteen minutes seems slow and aimless, but then it pulls itself together from that point on. I'd call it a "good PG-13 horror flick".
