Reporter J.J. Dalton (Stockard Channing) wants to write a story about a gruelling three thousand kilometer auto rally through Africa. When her deal to ride with a driver falls through, she hires ex-stuntman Eddie Miles (David Carradine), who is racing against his former employer, the ruthless Count Borgia (Sir Christopher Lee), who becomes their hardest and meanest competitor in the rally.
