"Phantom of the Paradise" is a cult classic that resonates with fans of 70s glam rock. Initially a box office failure, it has gained appreciation over time. The soundtrack by Paul Williams is praised for its cleverness. Some viewers may need multiple viewings to fully appreciate it.
A bomb on release, this has since become a camp classic. I saw it when it first came out and I was a 15 year old glitter rock freak. This was the perfect movie for me then and has held up for 50 years now. The day after I first saw it, I went to the local record shop and bought the soundtrack. The songs by Paul Williams are clever and wonderful. If you are fascinated by the glam rock scene of the early 70s, you need this in your viewing queue.
Not sure on this one yet. I think I like it, but I probably need to watch again.
