Once is a film that surprised me. On the surface, it seems very straightforward—a guy busking on the streets of Dublin meets a Czech woman with a broken vacuum cleaner, and they begin creating music together—but it hits much harder than you might think. The two leads aren't actors first, they're musicians, which strangely makes everything feels more authentic and natural. The songs aren't just filler—they serve as the story's emotional center. It seems incredibly real and heartfelt with moments that make you feel like you're watching some home videos. Everyone's love for music is evident, and that type of enthusiasm really draws you in. It's not flashy, but in some ways that's what makes it so wonderful.
