"MaXXXine" is a decent conclusion to the trilogy, though not as strong as its predecessors. The 80s setting and aesthetic are well-executed. The story starts interestingly but suffers from continuity issues and a rushed final act. Maxine's character is well-developed, but supporting characters lack depth. The soundtrack is a highlight.
Not as good as the first two movies but it was okay.
MaXXXine kept me gripped with its dark, twisted narrative and bold, stylish direction!
The 80s setting and aesthetic is very well done and convincing. The story starts off interestingly enough, but it struggles with continuity hooks, there are too many conveniences and the final act seems rushed, but the character of Maxine is very good, well developed and captivating, and this manages to greatly improve the quality of the final product. The supporting characters feel like throwaways, with no depth or even costume changes. A good highlight is the great soundtrack, which makes fluid connections with the whole movie.
