Mixed reviews for "Last Night in Soho." Positive points include interesting story, beautiful atmosphere, great soundtrack, and well-executed horror/suspense sequences. Criticisms highlight a slow pace, especially in the middle, and some forced plot paths. The ending is exciting but drags on.
I want, want, want to love it. It starts out so fabulously: acting, story, photography, milieu, but then halfway through…
Edgar Wright is my personal favorite director and he is doing as great a job as ever here. However I love his action direction and this movie is naturally very light on action. The horror/suspense sequences are very well executed but the films just drags a bit towards the middle as the main characters inner conflict begins building to a climax. The ending is very exciting and interesting but also drags on a bit too long. Overall pretty solid but not Edgar’s best work
S: wasn’t really paying attention because we were making food but we started watching at like 30 min left. Seemed interesting and would definitely watch again.M: kind of jumped around a lot. I wouldn’t really know though because I only watched the last 30 minutes. Might watch again
