Spielberg's direction has standout moments, but the script is seen as a bloated mess. One reviewer enjoyed the "nuke fridge" scene and the mushroom cloud shot. Another was excited initially but found the film too outlandish and even fell asleep in the theater. Overall, mixed reactions with notable criticism of the plot.
I was having a lot of fun watching this—captivating story, easy dialogue, good action, and funny scenes. But it ended up being too ridiculous to be camp, and the CGI is so messy and cheaply done I almost wish it were made in the 90’s instead.
Was excited when this came out. I was a big fan of the first three films. I fell asleep in the movie theater. It was too outlandish for my taste.
Spielberg's prowess as a director shines through with a few well-executed scenes and set pieces, but it's just not enough to salvage the bloated mess of a script Crystal Skull has.For the record, I love nuke fridge and especially the shot of the mushroom cloud that follows and I will never back down from that.
