Carrey makes the movie, his go for broke energy is what props everything else up. A kids movie that is watchable for adults too. Usually watch every year around holidays with niece and nepgew, good for a family with wide range of ages.
Ok, this adaptation is too long and overplays the slapstick comedy way too much. But I really appreciate the inventive scenery and watching Jim Carrey play a role that he seemed born to play is a pleasure (could any other actor have pulled this off??). Plus, the heart of Dr. Seuss’s much beloved story was thankfully left intact. Keep this one on your list of Christmas classics to be rewatched.
