The score is presented on a scale from 1 to 100, where 100 signifies content that is highly esteemed and positively rated within the community.
Revisiting "House of 1000 Corpses," it holds up well in cinematography, costumes, and writing. Initially shocking, it now feels tame compared to modern gore-centric films. Rainn Wilson's performance as a naïve, geeky kid is notable. Genuinely disturbing.
Revisiting old favorites, trying to get back into the horror genre. While not as gory as the later Rob Zombie movies, it's held up pretty good in the way of cinematography, costumes, writing, etc.It felt way more shocking when it first came out, but today it feels like it's pretty tame compared to other movies that are centered around gore/violence. I may like it more now than I did on my last viewing (a few years after release). Also, I completely forgot Rainn Wilson was in this. He plays a pretty good wide-eyed, naïve, geeky kid.
✅ 8/10
4.5/10 - so fucking dumb
