A couple of scenes sort of hit you over the head with a hammer by way of textual themes, but for whatever Ghost in the Shell lacks in subtlety, boy does it deliver in the visual and audio department! This film awed me with its gorgeous imagery and its hazy, atmospheric music. The opening sequence alone I rewatched several times, and each time I felt chills.
This made no sense, but it was worth my time.
