The movie "Escape from L.A." is described as cheesy and enjoyable for fans of "Escape from NY" and "Big Trouble in Little China." However, it is seen as a disappointing follow-up to the original, with criticisms that it dilutes the action, music, characters, and political intrigue that made the first film great.
Honestly I saw it in theaters and it gets to be a better watch every year.
It kind of takes everything good from the original (the action, music, characters, political intrigue) and pollutes it. I think it is purely and simply a “meh” movie, but as a follow-up to one of the masterpieces of a masterclass filmmaker, it is really saddening
Cheesy popcorn fare. If you liked Escape from NY and Big Trouble in Little China, you'll enjoy this outing.
