Klaus Kinski delivers a top-notch, demented performance reminiscent of "Apocalypse Now" but set among conquistadors. The film is described as an art house movie with a slow-moving, torturous study of a doomed quest by greedy men, possibly reflecting historical accuracy in their motivations and behaviors.
I guess you call this an art house movie? Torturously slow moving study of a fruitless quest by greedy, hopeless men led by their own Captain Ahab into oblivion. Most likely has some historical accuracy as to the motivations and behaviors of the Conquistadors as they seek to exploit the Americas and its indigenous people so that’s a plus.
Klaus Kinski’s demented performance in this is top notch. Really reminding me of Apocalypse Now, but for the conquistadors.Ray Gurrera’s flow is unmatched. It’s carved from pure obsidian.
