The reviews for "1408" highlight it as a good ghost movie that appeals even to those who typically don't enjoy supernatural horror. The film's events can be interpreted as mental illness or hallucinations, adding to its appeal. It delivers chills and holds up well over time, though it's noted as not particularly scary.
Not scary, but a good horror story.
When people talk about ghosts I roll my eyes. I'm usually not a super huge fan of supernatural/fantasy horror movies unless the things that happen to the main character could easily be explained as mental illness, or hallucinations, or something mundane like that. This definitely fits the bill, and I felt chills a few times while watching. Loved it when it was first out, and I have to say that it holds up all these years later. 9/10 spooky movie for me
Good ghost movie, and I usually don’t like them!
