3. La Camioneta: The Journey of One American School Bus
What it's about: Every day dozens of decommissioned school buses leave the United States on a southward migration that carries them to Guatemala, where they are repaired, repainted, and resurrected as the brightly-colored camionetas that bring the vast majority of Guatemalans to work each day. Since 2006, nearly 1,000 camioneta drivers and fare-collectors have been murdered for either refusing or being unable to pay the extortion money demanded by local Guatemalan gangs. LA CAMIONETA follows one such bus on its transformative journey: a journey between North and South, between life and death, and through an unfolding collection of moments, people, and places that serve to quietly remind us of the interconnected worlds in which we live.

What it's about: How do 1.1 billion people around the world live on less than one dollar a day? Four young friends set out to research and live this reality. They battle E.Coli, financial stress, and the realization that there are no easy answers. Yet, the generosity and strength of their neighbors, Rosa, Anthony and Chino gives them resilient hope. They return home transformed and embark on a mission to share their new found understanding with other students, inspiring and challenging their generation to make a difference.

8. Marimbas from Hell
What it's about: Don Alfonso is a deliveryman. He also plays marimbas, the traditional Guatemalan instrument. He is used to play a folkloric musical show in one of the fancy hotel of Guatemala City. He faces the population's lack of interest for his instrument, considered like out of date and old fashioned. Black is pioneer of the Heavy Metal Guatemalan underground stage. He also is also a doctor in the public hospital but nobody wants to be treated by him because of his long hair and his tattoos. When Don Alfonso and Black meet each other and decide to combine their talents and create a brand new project called Marimbas from Hell, they could never have imagined all the reactions they would provoke among the population.

9. La Vaca - Holy Cow
What it's about: When an eccentric millionaire dies, his two former lovers travel to Guatemala to claim their inheritance. But there are a couple catches. The two old flames have never met each other and, the Will stipulates that nobody receives any money until they can get the millionaire's favorite cow to mate. What ensues is a comedy of escalating hilarity as relatives, friends and strangers jockey to get themselves in line for a big payday. All the while the placid cow keeps her own council, waiting for the "right" bull to come along
